File Transfer Information
Please note that a user name and password is required for file transfer. If you do not have this information, contact your Customer Service Representative for prompt assistance before proceeding.If you are a new user, please follow the following instructions:
- Have your password and user name available.
- Complete a Electronic Prepress Information Sheet to ensure that your book files are properly identified and can be processed promptly. You may complete this fillable PDF online or download it and complete it at your leisure, saving it to disk. Plan to send it along with your book files. At a minimum, be sure to include your company name, contact person and number, book title and author, and a description of included content. (If you are supplying digital files for components such as bookjackets and preprints, please see the Bindery section for more information.)
- Select the plant location to which you would like your files transferred.
If transferring files to:
- Maple Press in York, Pennsylvania, go to ftp://ftp.maplepress.com
- Vail-Ballou in Binghamton, New York, go to
ftp://ftp.vail-ballou.com
- If you do not get a log-in window, go to the File pulldown menu
and select Login As. Key in your user name and password to start
the
process, and then press Login.
- If you have not been given a user name and password, please check with your Customer Service Representative.
- The passwords are case-sensitive.
- If using a Macintosh, please note that a file transfer utility
program (like Fetch) is required to transfer your files. Follow
the instructions
of your transfer utility program to browse your directories and to
select the necessary files.
- Select the file of your completed Electronic Prepress Information Sheet.
- Select the appropriate book files. You may browse repeatedly until all of the appropriate files have been selected.
- If using a PC, please follow these steps to transfer files:
- Drag and drop the copy of your completed Electronic Prepress Information Sheet into the window.
- Drag and drop the appropriate book files or folders into the window. Compression software (such as WinZip) can be used.
