
The Maple-Vail manufacturing facilities have extensive bindery operations which produce casebound and papercover books.
Maple-Vail produces a variety of bind styles including smyth-sewn, notch (fiberbond), and grindoff (adhesive or perfect) binding. Our binderies can handle trim sizes ranging from Component Design
To ensure a quality product and to avoid additional costs, all papercovers, bookjackets, preprints, endsheets and stamping dies must follow specific requirements, tailored for each individual title.
Maple-Vail provides helpful tools to assist you with this process. First, confirm the book specifications on your final estimate, including trim size, press type and binding style. Then use the Maple-Vail Component Builder to quickly and
easily create an illustrated, custom layout for your title. The General Information sheet provides additional information on component layouts, and your Sales Representative or Customer Service team member will be happy to assist you if you have any imposition questions.
If Maple-Vail is supplying your components, please also complete an Electronic Prepress Component Information Sheet for your Customer Service Representative. If your components will be produced by your own vendor, refer to the Printed Material Delivery Specifications for shipping information.
Material Supply Program
As a supplement to our Bindery capabilities, the Maple-Vail Supply Program provides a complete selection of cover materials, headbands, foils and endsheets for your production requirements.
